What do carpet beetles eat?
carpet beetles can almost eat anything they have the ability to digest keratin, a type of protein, and might eat wool, silk, or cereals. These bugs don’t bite and won’t damage to your home.

What are Carpet Beetles? 
Carpet beetles feed on carpets and similar products and reproduce very slow. Carpet beetles are commonly found in the homes mostly by window sills or doors.

How do Carpet Beetles get in your home?

Carpet beetles mostly come through gaps and cracks around your home. Mostly in older homes because the weathering strip on the windows fail and or because carpet beetle may eat through the felt weathering strip. These guys have the unusual ability to digest keratin, the structural proteins in animal or human hair, skin, or fur. In your home, they might be eating items made of wool or silk or feeding on cereals stored in your pantry.

Should I Treat For Carpet Beetles?

A lot of people don’t like amount of damage they cause to the wood in or around their homes. Beetles do not pose a threat to you if you start to see them around your home and they become pain in the butt and you can treat for them. We often  have clients that are allergic to them.
